The Hungarian D visa, also known as the Hungarian long-term visa, allows individuals to stay in Hungary for more than 90 days for various purposes such as work, study, family reunion or other long-term stay. This visa is usually issued as a single entry visa but allows the holder to apply for a residence permit in Hungary.
Below are the visa categories covered by the new Immigration Act 2024:
Guest worker visa (actual employer, 2+1 years, no dependents, no permanent residence)
Ordinary work visa (actual employer, 3 years, no family reunification, no permanent residence)
Self-employed/company manager visa (actual company, 1+2 years, family reunification possible, not permanent residence)
Elite work Visa (Highly educated, 3+3 years, family reunification possible, permanent residence possible)
Digital nomad visa (1+1 year, no reunification, no permanent residence)
Project worker visa (de facto employer, up to 3 years, family members allowed, not permanent residence)
Family reunification visa (reunification and permanent residence are linked to the status of the principal applicant)
ICT internal transfer visa for large companies (4+4 years, family reunification possible, permanent residence possible)
Investment Golden Visa (10+10 years, whole family, can work, can get permanent residence)
